IAIN ARCHIBALD
"I am the Reformed Church and 'house church' brother on the steering group. I am married to Theresa, am the father of two grown sons and now live in Edinburgh. I owe much of my new life in Christ these last 25 years to Catholic Charismatic Renewal, notably as it has gained expression in the international lay covenant communities movement.
"I certainly owe my breakthrough in relationships with men to this movement. Before I was as proud and self-reliant and lonely as the next man! As a result of my happy association with covenant communities, I have a passionate interest in men coming more fully into their own as men, brothers, husbands and fathers.
"Furthermore, I am a raving ecumaniac who loves seeing Christians from different traditions coming together, 'for there the Lord commands the blessing - life for evermore'."

MIKE GOLDSMITH
"I admit that I am rugby-mad. I heard the call to follow Jesus in 1993 as, in a drunken stupor, I finally recognised that only one thing could save me from the pit that I had descended into – I cried out to God for help, and God answered my call.
"I married Maureen in 1983, and have two daughters: Sarah born in 1987, and Rachel who was born in 1995 after intercessory prayer kicked in following secondary infertility problems when I was 40 yrs old.
"My principal contribution to CaFE (Catholic Faith Exploration) and to others in renewal is the design and print of materials through my contacts in the printing world, making the costs very low – and on occasions free! 2004 saw me publish a book with XT3.com entitled ‘A Guide to the Passion of the Christ’ as an outreach project. 180,000 copies of the book were given away free of charge mostly outside of cinemas.
"I do not claim or aspire to be a scholar or a theologian but seek to be a man of prayer who desires to be available whenever the Lord calls me."

Fr MIKE GWINNELL
"Having now spent six years in retirement from full-time ministry as a parish priest in Southwark Diocese, my time is now spent serving the renewal mostly in personal and one-to-one ministry.
"I have now been in renewal since the Roehampton conference in 1972 when I first fell into tongues. I was later the first Chairman of the London Day of Renewal, now based monthly in Euston, and for a number of years also served on the National Service Committee for Charismatic Renewal in England and Wales.
"I think very highly of 'men's work' and thoroughly enjoy watching men come alive in their faith. Having worked in parishes for 49 years I am so delighted to see the arrival of weekends away for men and the growing men's small groups across the country which enable men to take their proper place both in the Church and in the world.
"I enjoy listening to Classic FM. I am passionate about Scripture and have written a book on the Gospels."

ROY HENDY
"I became a Roman Catholic in my twenties and experienced a deepening of faith through the Charismatic Renewal. This resulted in my beautiful Thai wife, June, and me founding the House of the Open Door Community. We have seven adult 'children' together and have been blessed with over twenty grandchildren.
"I am particularly interested in seeing England converted to Christianity, and especially seeing men relieved from the stress of our 'achievement culture'.
"For twenty-seven years I was a Customs Officer, seeing many smugglers imprisoned for their crimes. One of the most exciting things about my life now is the opportunity to take part in prison ministry. Witnessing God moving among inmates with power gives me great hope. Seeing men stand in numbers to accept Jesus as their Saviour and King is evidence of His amazing love and wonderful plan to rescue each one of us from the mire."

MICHAEL JORDAN
"Mary and I were married 35 years ago and I suppose our shared interest in men’s outreach has blossomed as each of our seven sons was born. As a cradle Catholic I am eternally grateful to God for his disturbing influence in my comfortable life. Through experience of Charismatic renewal and then lay covenant community for the last 30 years I have grown to understand the height and the depth of the love of God in Christ Jesus.
"I attended my first Harvesters weekend in 2007 while at that time discerning how I would spend my approaching retirement from a career in university lecturing. God confirmed in me a desire to serve other men. I passionately want all men to come to know that love of Christ that I have found.
"I am currently studying philosophy and Spanish for the joy of it, and getting much better at golf."

GREG McCRAVE
"Now in my mid 40’s, I was born and brought up on the Wirral (‘as a wannabe scouser’) but for the last 20 odd years have lived up the road (the A59 to be precise) in Preston, Lancashire.
"I am married to Rose and we have two older teenage children - Joseph and Bethany. For the past fifteen years I've worked as an Independent Financial Adviser running the family business Profit With Principle giving ethical investment advice to individuals, church groups and charities.
"I co-started Preston Men's Group nearly ten years ago in order to give and find support for men on their spiritual journey. About 12 of us meet once a month for breakfast, input and sharing. As a group we've hosted a number of regional men's ‘open days’ and take the opportunity once a year to go away for a residential weekend. I have received great support and friendship through the group and would encourage all men ‘on the journey’ to join or start a local men's faith sharing group and to find a spiritual soul mate/director to be real and accountable with.
"I’ve qualifications in Religious Studies and Catholic education and have been active in my local church community in a number of different ministries (except flower arranging but wouldn't mind trying, to keep in touch with my feminine side!)
"My general interests are Liverpool FC, golf, guitar, Contemporary Christian Music, walking (with my wife) and films especially Science Fiction (not with my wife). My likes are: good food, good service, and a good pint of Guinness! My dislikes are: bad manners, being misunderstood, 'I'm a Celebrity' etc, and Man Utd of course.
"My tip of the decade - Eat Fairtrade Chocolate and put on weight ethically!"

GERARD POMFRET
"I was born in Luton and have lived there all my life. I have been married to Toni for a very long time: longer than either of us will own up to. We have two children and five grandchildren and together we run Goodnews Books (mail order Christian books).
Always a Catholic, I was active in the Legion of Mary for ten years. I joined a charismatic prayer group in 1988 and since then much of my time has been spent in the healing ministry and helping other prayer groups to run Life in the Spirit Seminars.
"I have enjoyed every men’s weekend and I am involved with a local group in Luton. It has been a blessing to me to see men’s lives changed during the weekends and most especially one of my life-long friends at Woldingham in recent years. I am also blessed to have been able to travel to East Africa with the Harvesters team. I never fail to be amazed at the power of God working in the lives of His people, especially those who have so little material wealth.
"Together with Toni, I am involved at local parish level with other Christian denominations organising ecumenical services and various events: our Sunday Mass has been celebrated in St. Luke’s Anglican Church for the past 25 years. I have been known to play an odd round of golf here and there."

Fr CHRIS THOMAS
Fr Chris is a priest of the Liverpool Archdiocese. He is based in Formby and was released from parish duties several years ago to undertake a new venture in growth and spirituality called The Iraneus Project of which he is the director. Instead of expecting people to make their way to a specific retreat centre, Fr Chris goes out to meet them. He has led many retreats and spoken at conferences in recent years using a blend of story and reflection to proclaim the Gospel message. More than anything else Chris loves reflecting on the Scriptures and encouraging others to do the same.
He is also a member of the National Service Committee for Catholic Charismatic Renewal in England and Wales and is a member of the Emmaus Family of Prayer in Southport.

VINCENT TURNER
A widower with one adult daughter, Vincent is a retired National Trade Union Officer. A cradle Catholic, he has experienced both famine and feast during the 60 years of his faith journey. During his adult life Vincent has served others as a youth leader, local politician, trade union activist and a member of his parish Justice and Peace group.
Vincent first received the Holy Spirit in to his life in 1989. Domestic, employment and other pressures restricted his rate of growth in this new found grace. It was the sudden death of Vincent’s wife that led to his coming to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal movement. As part of his Parish’s adult formation team he came in to contact with CaFE, whose Director, David Payne, introduced Vincent to the Harvester’s Men’s weekend. During his first weekend he experienced the fellowship and prayer of compassionate and understanding brothers which contributed significantly to the healing of his, then still raw, grief.
Vincent now serves the movement as a Trustee of the Crew Trust, Secretary of the Westminster Diocese Service Team and as a member of the St Albans Celebrate Weekend team. He serves his Parish as a Reader and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and the Church as Chair of the Board of Governors of a Catholic Primary School. He is also a member of the Employment Tribunal.
"Please pray for me that I may continue to grow in love for, and the service of, the Lord. "

For over 20 years he was the Chairman of the English National Service Committee for Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and was for 10 years the President of ICCRS, International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services - the principal co-ordinating body for Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church with an office in Vatican premises in Rome. He is currently Chairman of ICC, the International Charismatic Consultation on World Evangelisation - an ecumenical body promoting Baptism in the Holy Spirit, co-operation and unity between churches, and evangelisation. He is co-chairman of the English Pentecostal and Charismatic Leaders Conference. In 2004 he was invited to serve as the only non-Pentecostal member of the Azusa Street Centennial Cabinet.
Charles travels extensively, speaking at local, national, and international conferences, and his first book Pentecost Is For Living is in 10 languages. He writes regularly for a variety of publications, and on the Editorial Board for Good News. He is an Editorial Consultant to Christianity magazine.
In addition to being an active member of St. Joseph’s Church, Gerrards Cross, he sits on a number of local, diocesan, and national church and special ministry committees, including the Catholic Bible School, the Christian Healing Mission, The Pilgrims, the Antioch Community, the Committee of the Isles, ALPHA, and with Sue works to promote greater understanding and co-operation among Christians everywhere. In 1993 he was made a Freeman of the City of London, and admitted to the Worshipful Company of Stationers. DAVE YATES
"I am married to Olive, have five children, and eleven grandchildren.
"I spent forty-two years working in financial services but am now retired and work part-time at the National Football Museum close to home. I am a member of the Preston Men's Group and love getting together with other guys from the local area just to hang out and share our lives with one another. I look forward to our monthly meetings and to our being able to support and encourage one another through the trials and joys of life.
"I am quite involved with my local parish and help to run a marriage course with my wife. I also enjoy reading and gardening."

TEAM NEWS
Each of us as a member of the organising committee is involved in, and committed to, meeting regularly with our own regional small group of men
 Hanging out at HOD
We meet together several times a year as a team to pray, listen, share and discuss what we believe the LORD is asking of us as a service to our fellow men
 At table together
2004 was the first time we took time out together to enjoy an overnight stay in Gloucestershire. This gave us a chance to go deeper with God and with one another
 Planning ahead...
In 2005 the team was joined by Fr Chris Thomas and Dave Yates who brought with them many gifts to challenge, enrich and serve the existing team
In 2006, Ray stepped aside from the team. Stephen decided to retire at the end of 2007 so as to concentrate more on Church activity closer to home. We were joined, however, at this time by Michael Jordan from Scotland who proves to be a very valuable member of the team.
